MTG CLEARSIL/ANTISTATIC: ATEX Hoses for the Food, Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Industries

MTG-CLEARSIL/ANTISTATIC is the new product line developed by the company's internal research and development laboratory, offering hose solutions specifically designed for applications requiring use in ATEX (Explosive Atmospheres) zones, particularly for the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.

A key distinguishing feature of the CLEARSIL line is the use of a special gray platinum silicone rubber of our own production, antistatic (with contact resistance R<10^8 Ohm) and certified for food use. Its properties include being odorless and tasteless with a smooth and glossy finish.

MTG-Clearsil/PFA-Antistatic

The flagship model of the line is the MTG-Clearsil/PFA-Antistatic hose: this hose stands out for its advanced construction that includes an internal liner in PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy), a fully fluorinated, smooth, black and antistatic (R<10^6 Ω) material, patented by MTG. The external covering is made of the same food-grade, odorless and tasteless gray antistatic silicone rubber (R<10^8 Ohm), with a smooth and glossy finish.

Safety in explosion-risk zones is a fundamental characteristic of CLEARSIL hoses. The MTG-Clearsil/PFA-Antistatic model is specifically suitable for a wide range of ATEX zones, namely 0, 1, 2 and 20, 21, 22. Its suitability is certified by the Ineris Institute with approval no. INERIS-IDE 208760-2739065. The electrical resistance through the wall of this hose is less than 10^9 Ω.

MTG-Clearsil/HD-Antistatic

The line also includes the MTG-Clearsil/HD-Antistatic model, made entirely of platinum-cured silicone, with an antistatic gray silicone sublayer and cover. This hose is suitable for use in ATEX zones 1/21 and 2/22.

Structure and Characteristics

CLEARSIL hoses are characterized by a robust construction, reinforced with high-strength synthetic textile inserts and a stainless steel spiral. This structure makes them suitable for applications that require reduced bending radii and high suction resistance. Both hoses offer a wide range of use, with temperature resistance from -60°C up to +150°C for the PFA-Antistatic and up to +200°C for the HD-Antistatic. The PFA-Antistatic is also suitable for fluids with a high alcohol content (up to 96%), while the HD-Antistatic is suitable up to 50%.

Production in our Cleanroom

The production of both CLEARSIL ANTISTATIC hoses takes place in an ISO 14644-1 Class 8 cleanroom, certified In Operation, guaranteeing full traceability of the production process from raw material to packaged product. The MTG production cycle does not use animal derivatives, phthalates, adipates, nitrosamines and materials subject to restrictions according to Reg. CE 1907/2006 (REACH), and the hoses are non-plasticized. In particular, the PFA-Antistatic is free of potentially hazardous additives or chemical components.

Food Certifications

Food compliance is a central element of the CLEARSIL line, in line with the needs of the relevant industries. The gray platinum silicone used is certified for food use. The hoses comply with numerous food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical regulations, including FDA (with specific references cfr 21 parts 170 to 199 item 177.2600), EC Regulation 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011, DM 21/03/1973 and EC Regulation 2023/2006 (GMP). Compliance is also extended to German BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung XV Sect. III and XXI) and French (Arrêté du 25 novembre 1992) regulations. The PFA sublayer of the PFA-Antistatic also complies with USP Class VI.
