Materials and regulations for rubber hoses: safety, compliance and control

MTG continuously monitors the evolution of food, pharmaceutical and chemical regulations, selecting compliant and safe materials for the production of rubber and silicone hoses used in critical industrial applications.

Material selection and control

For over 45 years, MTG has based its manufacturing philosophy on the careful selection of safe materials, ensuring protection for both production operators and end users, as well as for the media conveyed through its hoses.

Each raw material and semi-finished component is evaluated by the R&D and quality teams, with a strong focus on safety data sheets, compliance with the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, and risk assessment related to workplace safety.

Compliance of materials

To meet the highest standards in food and pharmaceutical applications, MTG avoids the use of animal-derived substances and plasticizers such as phthalates and adipates.

All materials comply with major international food contact regulations, including:

  • Italian DM 21/03/1973
  • French Arrêté of 09/11/1994
  • German BfR recommendations
  • FDA 21 CFR
  • USP Class VI (when required)

MTG performs internal testing to simulate real operating conditions, including steam sterilization cycles and CIP cleaning processes.

Continuous update

MTG constantly monitors regulatory developments through partnerships with European laboratories and research institutes.

At the same time, continuous training of technical and commercial staff ensures effective support for customers in selecting the most suitable hose solution based on regulatory and application requirements.
